iOPT – Frequency Planning intelligent Optimization and Planning Tool
iOPT utilizes several inputs to build a network interference profile like: FAS ICDM, NCS, DAC, CF, Prediction Interference matrix like, and drive test scan data. It also takes into account Effective Frequency Loading EFL, for SFH networks. Using iOPT will facilitate auditing the entire network to pin point violations of the constraint matrix as well as finding cells that could easily improve in interference levels with simple frequency changes. Interference levels are predicted to help evaluate the before and after solutions.
iOPT algorithm uses Artificial Intelligence Techniques to find solutions that would obey network constraints and offer multiple solutions that will result in not only site fix but overall cluster improvement, up to the 5th tier. The suggested recommendations are ranked based on their predicted improvement in network interference level, making it easy for RF engineers to choose the right solution. Results have shown phenomenal improvements up to 60% in Retainability KPIs as well as Handover performance in major metropolitan markets.
Another module of iOPT is Automatic Frequency Planner or AFP. This module uses an Artificial Intelligence Technique called Simulated Annealing to create a network wide Frequency Plan. Results from this module have proven to be very competitive and advantages over results obtained from leading tools in the market. Using Artificial Intelligence techniques like Simulated Annealing (AFP) or Exhaustive Search with Heuristics (iFP) can be employed to solve other color coding problems.
Aside from typical frequency planning in GSM networks, the tool is used for PN planning for CDMA and W-CDMA networks. The tool can also be easily customized to handle different inputs, constraints or apply specific logic that would yield the best results in terms of reducing overall network interference.
As an added power to the tool, the NCELL module is capable of pulling live data from several databases/sources to help analyze and optimize neighbor lists, identify boomers and reduce interference. The NCELL tool can also be utilized for W-CDMA networks’ Neighbor Analysis and Optimization using WNCS measurements. Contact us
